"Rosneft Bitumen" supplied a record volume of bitumen materials to the market in 2021

"Rosneft Bitumen", the operator of Rosneft's bitumen business, supplied more than 3 million tons of bitumen materials to consumers in 2021. This is the highest result for the entire period of production and sales of these products, an increase of 6% compared to the previous year.

Record indicators were achieved due to the introduction of new Company products to the market, expansion of the Company's presence in Russian regions, development of sales channels and implementation of initiatives aimed at optimizing and improving production and logistics efficiency.

During the year, bitumen units at the Ryazan and Novokuibyshevsk sites operated with an increased load. Early seasonal launch of the units at the Siberian refineries - Achinsk Refinery and Angarsk Petrochemical Complex - helped meet increased demand for bitumen in the regions of Siberia and the Far East.

The development of bitumen business is connected with the sale of innovative materials. In 2021 they were sold more than 272 thousand tons, which is 21% higher than the corresponding results of the previous year. They were produced at facilities in different regions - Moscow, Ryazan, Saratov, Samara, Irkutsk regions, the Republic of Bashkortostan and Krasnoyarsk Territory. "Rosneft Bitumen" is actively developing its production sites to provide road builders with high-quality and uninterrupted high-tech products.

Rosneft Bitumen paid special attention to expanding production and promoting PG grades* in the market in accordance with the new national standard. More than 165,000 tonnes were sold, up 42% year-on-year.

One of Rosneft's priorities is to strengthen its technological leadership and develop the production of innovative materials for road construction. Last year, the special purpose polymer-bitumen binder PBV Alphabit Most, produced under the Rosneft brand, was included in the Register of new technologies and materials of the Russian Road Research Institute. The Register was created as part of the national project "Safe and Quality Roads" for the use of new technologies and materials of the road industry.
